    HP has really upped its game in the design of computers for home users. While a few years ago, they felt cold and business-like, now they have unique designs that allow people to express their identity through their computers.This has put them in a unique position to connect with people on a deeper level by meeting needs beyond projecting identity and simply getting things done.

    Whatever outward empathy they may show to their customers does not get directed to their employees. It is all about the bottom line with them. The have been consistantly moving ‘customer service’ offshore be it India or South America because they can pay them so much less. It does not matter that the people they take jobs from have been with them for 10 years or get top ratings on their performance reviews. Also HP has a so called job relocation program. If you get put on workforce reduction they are supposed to have a person who will help you relocate to another position in the company that is hiring so they can keep talent in the company and managers are supposed to give these people the priority when hiring for these positions. That program, over all, is fiction. Managers hired outside talent over people in WFR and the helper person rarely replies and does not help a person move in the company.

    So think about the number of local workers (Not just American but European as well) who have lost their jobs so you can have a computer with unique designs and identity.
